  • From time to time my Bluetooth mouse (Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000) stops working. I have to either move the mouse around a lot or power cycle it to get it working again. The problem is not in the mouse, which works fine with other computers. From time to time my Bluetooth mouse.
  • If the mouse worked previously, a software update or configuration problem might exist. Use Microsoft System Restore to go back to the last time the mouse was known to be working properly. For instructions on how to use Microsoft System Restore, refer to the HP support document Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 10, 8).

Hello,Please make sure your mouse pad isn't disabled before trying my recommendations, as the other Spiceheads have indicated.Have you tried to reinstall your drivers? If not please re-download them from HP's website and completely uninstall the touch pad, using an external mouse and then try reinstalling:)If at all possible you could also try rolling back your mouse pad driver if its recently been updated?Have you recently done any windows updates? I know some updates contains driver updates which could've caused the issue for you. Please let me know if this works:)Thanks,-Shaun. Text The light in the top right of the touchpad is glowing orange, which I believe means its active, I have tried to move it with the light both on and off but no luck.It is reverse, if orange glows on the touchpad it is disabled. Try to tap it once and check the mouse cursor moving.I agree with Gopal here.

I have an external HP mouse which was working fine with this Toshiba laptop, now suddenly it is not working anymore only on this laptop. On other laptops, the mouse is working fine and any other external mouse is also working fine on my laptop. Steps taken:- Reinstalling Drivers Many times after plugging and un-plugging the external mouse.

If the orange light on the touch pad it on, that means it is disabled. Some HP laptop models you can double tap on that light to turn it off, thus enabling the touch pad.
