Make Npc Essential Skyrim
There are several NPCs in Skyrim who at some point during gameplay are essential. In effect, this means they cannot be killed under any condition (unlike protected NPCs, who can be killed normally by the player, but not by others), and when their health bar fully depletes, they will merely fall into a state of recovery for a short time before standing back up with full health.

One method I used to use was just to add a line to (I believe) the skyrim.ini which made every character non-essential, however that led to many characters dying off-screen and breaking quests, only fixable by resurrecting quest characters until I got lucky.I'm looking for a mod that can easily change essential flags on the fly without having to resort to looking up character IDs online to use in the console. Something like a targeted spell that would flip an NPC from essential to non-essential would be perfect.
What do you guys use?.

Idk about Serana, but I think his issue is because he's set as both essential and invulnerable, takes no damage whatsoever. As I most commonly use this command to cleanse Riften of the thieves guild, I can say it works for the Blackbriars, Maul, Mercer, etc.For Brinjolf, what I do is the same setessential 0 command, but followed by targeting him inside console, and usingdamageav health 5000.
